Estate planning comes with jargon. Our free guides and plain-English glossary cover the rest.
How much does a will cost in the UK?
A professionally written single will typically costs £90–£300, and mirror wills for a couple £150–£450. Planners charge very different prices for the same work — that's exactly why comparing pays. Every quote we show is a fixed price, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.
Is comparing quotes really free?
Yes — comparing is free and there's no obligation to go ahead. We're paid a referral fee by the planner you choose, never by you. That fee doesn't change your price, and your matched quotes are always shown cheapest-first.
Who are the planners you compare?
Every planner on our panel is BCEP-trained, vetted before they join, and works to Treating Customers Fairly principles. You see each one's rating, review count and turnaround time next to their price, so you can judge value as well as cost.
What is a Lasting Power of Attorney — do I need one?
An LPA lets someone you trust make financial or health decisions for you if you ever can't make them yourself. It only works while you have capacity to set it up, so most planners recommend arranging LPAs alongside your will. The Office of the Public Guardian charges a separate £92 registration fee per LPA on top of the planner's fee.
What happens after I get my quotes?
You verify your email, unlock your matched planners and decide who gets in touch. We never sell your details, and only the planner you choose can contact you — no cold calls, no pressure.
